cazack Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hello I am wanting to find out if there is a medal roll listing the IDSM as I am trying to confirm that the following was awarded a IDSM 2479, Bakhsh, Sepoy, 1 / 69th Punjabis Regiment any help would be greatly appreciated regards Caz
cazack Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 In regards to this maybe ww1 as I have his 1914 / 15 star if this helps regards Caz
paul wood Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Sorry nobody of that number received and IDSM between 1914-21, they ceased to be the 69th Punjabis in 1922 and were absorbed into the 2/2 Punjab regt.Paul
King-Emperor Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Was this the star that was listed on eBay? I think I recall a Star to an 'IDSM' winner being sold, but like Paul says he definitely did not win an IDSM. There is a 673 Havildar Muhd. Bakhsh 69th Pjbis that did win an IDSM, but obviously not the same chap. You could try returning it?
peter monahan Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) The 1924 Indian ARMY List lists a Subadar Muhammad Baksh, 2/2 Punjabis as having been awarded the IDSM on Sept. 8, 1922 but this may not be the same man at all. Sepoy to Subadar would be a big jump in 4-6 years. Edited April 15, 2014 by peter monahan
cazack Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 thanks all for you help and thoughts, I am happy to keep the star may have to invest in books suggested by paul
