I have a complete one somewhere, my mum was going to bin it but I remember collecting them when I was little so kept it. Don't know where it is now though.

Chris, I guess so, Soltau used to be the Bde HQ Garrison until the 90s.

Yes, I recall them coming out about the time I was in univ - mid/late '70s - but never bought a set as I had no $ and what I did have was saved for real badges. Quite possible brought over by a trooper or sent to him by his mom.

Peter, they were free in the UK, all you had to do was fill up at Texaco and you got a badge for a certain amount of gallons/litres.

Could be. I may be wrong but by the time I saw them out here in the colonies, I recall there being a price attached. Possibly re-sales? That's a looong time ago and I've been hit on a head a few times since then!
