Mervyn Mitton
The important and visible marking is the Regt. mark on the top of the scabbard. East African Battalion springs to mind - but was there a unit with this name. If German the initials would be different. Anyone have any ideas ? christerd
What I can see of the scabbard marking it belonged to Infantery Regiment 21 Which was in Kalmar ( south East of Sweden) 1893-1927 Christer
peter monahan
Don't know where they served but I agree that "I 21" almost certainly means "Infantry [battalion] 21". Rack or issue number '206' which was for some reason changed to '191'. I'd guess that the 'EAB' might be the same as the 'EAJB' marking on the guard - a manufactory mark.
