Alpha Draconis Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Hello Gents Please help to identify this miniature! Is it Russian, or maybe Serbian, maybe orthodox religious??? Thanks in advance! Joseph
Alpha Draconis Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Hello Igor Thanks for the info! I don't have the pictures of the back! So it's English? Is it military, red cross or church related medal?
paul wood Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Its for the Russian Flag Day in Britain January 1917, they were made by an unknown Birmingham jeweller HSW&B and hallmarked 1916, presumably these were given to those who donated over a certain sum. They appear in auction from time to time and tend to make around £200.Paul
Alpha Draconis Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Hello Paul Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!! You say that the miniature makes 200 Pounds, or the actual size medal, if there is a standard size medal of this? Josep

Alpha Draconis Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Thanks Taz Anyone interested in buying this piece? I was offered to buy it, but didn't know what it is! Now I know, but it's not in my area of interest. Best AD
paul wood Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 The Alexandra piece (I presume she was a patron) is interesting and as a 9ct gold piece must be part of a very small batch. Obviously with that provenance it is going to be worth a lot more. I have only ever encountered one miniature of the badge and that was with a full-sized group which also contained the badge so quite a rarity. Sorry the price I gave was for the full-sized but I would have thought a miniature ought to be worth around £100 or so at least.Paul
Alpha Draconis Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Paul Thanks once more for your help!! Soon I will post one more thread about Imperial Russian order, and I'll need your opinion on the subject! Your opinion is highly valued in this forum! Best Regards Joseph
