Chris Boonzaier Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 The G98 is shoulder height!?!?!? How did he land up in the infantry?!?!?
Trooper_D Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I think I'm taking this far too seriously, Chris, but ... ... if we believe the you-know-which-pedia, which tells us that a G98 is 1.25m long, a rough-and-ready estimate of his height is possible - assuming it isn't the carbine version, of course Based on the amended version of your photograph (attached), I estimate his height as being 1.55m, which, in language I can understand, makes him 5ft 1in tall. A giant of a man in all other respect, though, I am sure!
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I- assuming it isn't the carbine version, of course ! I hope for him it was not!!!
The Prussian Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Hello! In average the men´s height in 1914 was 1,67m
IrishGunner Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 How did he land up in the infantry?!?!? Because his "gun" wasn't big enough for the artillery. (Seriously, that was too easy. )
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Because his "gun" wasn't big enough for the artillery. (Seriously, that was too easy. ) Unlike the infantry, where you have your own.. in the artillery a bunch of guys get around and share someone else's .... :-)
