15THPACAV Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I've had this Luftwaffe officer's dress cap for some time. It's a later war ( stamped August 1943 under the sweatband) Erel Privat version, the top of the line. One can just barely make out the stamping in the sweatshield under the right light. The cap exterior is moth free, but the sweatband is a bit ragged and dried out, with some loss of the leather. Still, it displays well, IMHO. Thanks for looking.
15THPACAV Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Super nice one!! Are there any other markings on it? Other than the date stamp, and the usual Erel markings, no.
Paul R Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 It is a beauty that I would be proud to display. Congrats!
15THPACAV Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 It is a beauty that I would be proud to display. Congrats! Thanks much. I actually bought it well under market price, probably due to the ragged sweatband, which, I believe, just dried out over the years, and became quite fragile. Prices for these caps can be $1,000 or more, $ 2,000 plus for a white top version, which I would love to have.
