Yankee Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 1.jpeg 3.jpeg Never knew the women had served in a combat role in the 1st World War. These fotos are awesome and to see so many women wearing the Saint George Cross is incredible . This foto of a Cossack is fantastic. I wonder what she had to do to get that decoration of honor. Thanks for sharing your collection. Sincerely Brian

Mathomhaus Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 They are all "artillerymen" in the picture and it was taken in Sebastopol in October of 1920. The standing woman is 2nd Lt. Nadezhda Zaborskaia (committed suicide in exile), the seated woman with her cap in her hand is Zinaida Gotgard (also committed suicide in exile), and the woman with the dog is Valentina Lozovskaia. Regards
Chuck In Oregon Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Could it be that suicide in exile was the same as murdered in exile?
