Jock Auld
Guys, A couple of pics today, was there a shortage of shoulder straps that made them wear the insignia on the collar? Jock
Glenn J
Jock, Normal practice for Landsturm battalions to wear Corps and battalion numerals on the collar. Regards Glenn

Jock Auld
It is VI above 33? Jock
The Prussian
Hi Jock! If it is VI.33, it´s the : 1.Landsturm-Infanterie-Ausbildungs-Bataillon of the 6th army corps (silesia). set-up 16.8.1915, dissolved 1.4.1916. Are you sure with that number? The Prussian
Hello Jock! Yes! Pretty clear! VI.33! It might me a rare photo, because that unit existed only 7,5 months!
Chip
Photos that show soldiers without their shoulder boards are not that unusual. They were often removed for photos. In this case, however, I could not guess the reason, as Landsturm tunic shoulder straps normally do not display any insignia.
