Jock Auld Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Guys, Nothing fancy, from the week end a €10 photo album. The pickle shot has a Gibraltar cuff just visible right sleeve.
Bernhard H.Holst Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Hello Jock. Re. "Gibraltar" see your group picture below the hospital inmates on smoking break: cuffband in view on many of the soldiers. My guess is they belonged to Fusilier Regt. 73 on training period at Munster training grounds. The regiment was stationed at Hanover and the last surviving Pour Le Merite recipient Lt. Ernst Juenger and his brother Fritz belonged to it during WW I. Thanks for showing these pictures. Bernhard H. Holst Edited February 3, 2015 by Bernhard H.Holst
Jock Auld Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Bernhard, Hidden in plain sight! I swear I am going blind at times. It was a Hannover find so it was local lads. Have they miss-spelt 'Heide' on the chalk board? Edited February 3, 2015 by Jock Auld
Bernhard H.Holst Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Bernhard, Hidden in plain sight! I swear I am going blind at times. It was a Hannover find so it was local lads. Have they miss-spelt 'Heide' on the chalk board? Hello Jock. Yes, they have. Shame, shame.. Looking with a magnifying glass showed it. And you state your eyes ... Bernhard H. Holst
speedytop Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Hi, no, it is not misspelled. Both is correct, especially in these older times. Please see here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heide_%28Landschaft%29 and for example here: http://www.gut-haidehof.de/ Since 1904! Uwe PS: Did anyone delete my post from yesterday, and if yes, why?
Jock Auld Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Uwe, Thanks for the info, didn't see your post and I think there have been some technical issues from updating? I thought only Mods and higher could delete stuff?
speedytop Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 "... there have been some technical issues from updating?" Yes, that is correct, all is OK. Uwe
