Jock Auld Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Guys,As this is not my main effort I am sure these are quite common but it is the first one I have seen? His service appears to have started in 1910 so they needed to extend the book? Looks like he got to the end!?
IrishGunner Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I'm sure others can chime in with more, but I am always surprised about some small bit in these Passes. Often what looks to be "common" yields some interesting info.
turtle Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Seems to be an interesting Militärpass, would you show more pages? He received the Black Wound Badge on 18.07.1918 and fought till the last days of the war.

turtle Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 If I read it correctly (better pictures would help) he was posted from 13.05-21.05 to the Minenwerfer Abteilung of Rgt. 73. Some of the information is unfortunately below the battle calendar.
Jock Auld Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 I will do the whole book after I have done my 'chores' as set by the wife!
turtle Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Thanks for showing the other pages! A short summary: Recalled for WWI on 03.08.1914, woundet on 22.08.14, promoted to Gefreiter on 24.09.1915, got the Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse on 21.05.1916, became an english POW on 04.11.1918, returned to Germany on 04.09.1919 and was promoted to Unteroffizier and release from service. Edited February 18, 2015 by turtle
Jock Auld Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Thanks for the detail, I spoted the EK award but I find the hand writing hard work. Cheers
IrishGunner Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Wounded, EK2, POW, Minenwerfer Abteilung for a short period; looks like a very interesting pass and quite collectible.
