Stuka f Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Appreciate any help with identification of the painter and / or the man on the portrait it self. Don't hesitate to ask any question. To me the signature on the painting reads; H.Carls, but I can't find any info under that name. The word Sennelager would mean; "training camp", so I could find. The handwriting in pencil at the back is also a mistery to me...
Bernhard H.Holst Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Hello: Sennelager is/was a large training establishment in the western part of Germany. The Malkarton seems a commercially available carton piece on which to paint, came in different sizes? Pencil inscription as far as I can make it out " Heinz Car.. Nieder Wen.. ueber Ha.. Seems to be a name and address Sorry I could not be of more help. Bernhard H. Holst Edited February 17, 2015 by Bernhard H.Holst
Stuka f Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Hey Bernhard H. Holst, thanks for your help so far, all bits and pieces are a great help. Puzzle can get on that way. cheers |<ris
Stuka f Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 according to a member of a neighbour forum it would be; Heinz Carls, Nieder-Wengern über Hattingen/Ruhr
Stuka f Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Would it be possible to find out more regarding this person, by anyone? I am in a death end here. Can't find a painter or anyone with that name. cheers |<ris

Stuka f Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 Hello, yes it is sold. But I got a other one (for sale !). A police officer on canvas (not framed!). And a far better quality then the doc.
Bayern Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Stuka : For me , the officer of the first paint is a beamte and not a doctor . the badge on his shoulderboards is not the medical and the piping of the mutze looks more dark green than kornblumen blau .
