Paul R Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Here is my latest addition. While it is not to a member of the medical profession, the uniqueness of it had me make an exception. A nice uniform set to CAPT Richard R. Smith. He was a veteran of both WW2 and Korea. He is the only person I can see in my books who was awarded both the Navy/Marine Corps Medal and the Bronze Star with the "V" combat designation device. As you can see, the ribbon bars are sewn onto the jacket. His citations are in this photo group as well. All I need is a hat, white shirt/tie, and shoes!
Feldjaeger.1 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 A fantastic group my friend. I love the navy and MC medal on the ribbon bar.
Paul R Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 Thank you my friend. I was so excited to see it that I sold an old flag to pay for it. Named groups for the Coast Guard, especially with these high medals, are very scarce.
captainofthe7th Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I think I saw this one when it was for sale and i almost grabbed it myself, though it is just outside of my focuses as well! It's really such a great unique uniform. I'm glad you got it!Rob
Paul R Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Thank you! Me too. It is one of my favorite US uniforms so far.
