    Fashion generaly influenced uniforms and attributes!

    So my question is could coins like this have been predecessors fo tinnies and/ or medals.

    It is a silver 1795, 3 gulden coin having a cloth pin attached to it.

    To me a political statement was send out by the person wearing it, stating being in favor of the  Republic of the Seven United Netherlands ...

    I am afraid the style of broaching looks somewhat later to me. Coin jewellery was very popular in the late 19th century.

    You are probably right about this Paul.

    Do you have any references to that kind of "coin jewellery" fashion, to guide me to?

    Not particularly, however sometimes they used to enamel the coins and when the workmanship is good they appear in auction and there are known enamellers who flourished in the second half of the 19th century. Also after the Boer War many Kruger coins were mounted for souvenirs.
