Stuka f Posted August 12, 2015 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Fashion generaly influenced uniforms and attributes!So my question is could coins like this have been predecessors fo tinnies and/ or medals.It is a silver 1795, 3 gulden coin having a cloth pin attached to it.To me a political statement was send out by the person wearing it, stating being in favor of the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands ... paul wood Posted August 12, 2015 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Not particularly, however sometimes they used to enamel the coins and when the workmanship is good they appear in auction and there are known enamellers who flourished in the second half of the 19th century.
