Jef Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Dear friends,I was wondering if anyone of you knows where I could buy some Austrian ribbons. Have some medals without any ribbon, and I would like to complete it.Kind regards from FlandersJef
Guest Rick Research Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 For WHICH medals? And are you looking for original ribbons or new replacements?I am sure our many "pack rats" might be able to help IF we knew WHAT you were looking for.
Ed_Haynes Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 The last I knew, the OMSA ribbon bank had some good Austrian stocks, if you are member. See: http://www.omsa.org/forums/ribbons.php
Jef Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Dear Rick and Ed, First of all thank you for your reaction and offer to help.Rick, I would be glad if I could find new replacement ribbons of the Bronzene tapferkeitsmedaille Kaiser Karl and das Eisernes verdienstkreuz ohne krone. I guess these are the same ribbons. I'm also looking for the ribbon of Milit?rdienstzeichen fur Unteroffiziere ( 6 jahre) and for the blue ribbon of das Oestereichischer Ehrenlegion kreuz. Ed, concerning OMSA, I'm afraid I'm not a member but I will visit their website very soon.Again, thank you both,Jef
Rod Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Is it possible to get Austrian style triangle ribbons for minis??? Original would be wonderful and repros would be ... well ... ok.I am looking for:1. The war red and white striped for the FJO knight. and.... 2. The orange with blue stripe Order of the Iron Crown knight, third class.I have seen some full size repro ribbons, but no mini ribbons....Sigh Rod
Guest Rick Research Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 I have only seen a literal handful of Austrian awards worn on mini-trifolds (German ribbon bar sized ribbons). Mostly they were worn on lapel chains with no ribbons at all.
