Alan
Hi All, I been trying to find some WWI issue awards to compare to this one to, but I am not sure what to look for exactly. Can anyone tell me if this is WWI manufacture at all? Any other thoughts / comments welcome Many thanks
Dave Danner
There were only 23 awards, and all but 2 (for the Boxer Rebellion) were from World War I. Here is the example illustrated in Nimmergut:

ccj
It certainly looks of high quality manufacture.

Dave Danner
Who is Dan? I don't have better scans, but here are the images of my own cross which I was able to save from my old web site.
Alan
Great Pics Dan, I see the the obverse monogram is a match to the image from Nimmergut where as the one on my original image appears to be less elaborate. Would this be due to simply a different maker pre 1918 or an indication of a later manufacture for this award?
Dave Danner
Not a clue. I can't even tell how different they are, given that photos of gold or other reflective materials will have a bit of "bleed" due to the reflection.
