Chris Boonzaier Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Can anyone guess at what these guys are? Thanks Chris
Chip Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 The shoulder strap in the first picture is a M15 Kraftfahrer enlisted example. No idea why they would be wearing Tschakos. There were Kraftfahr troops assigned to various units, but they normally wore their branch clothing and not that of the unit they served. Chip
Odulf Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 (edited) Bavarian Train-Bat. did wear Tschakos for a long time, note this uniform table from 1905 Edited February 12, 2016 by Odulf
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Kraftfahrer belonged originally to the Verkehrstruppen , as well as the Telegraph boys and the Flyers - and thats why they all wear Tschakos - sometimes - nice pic
The Prussian Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Hello! Bavarian Kraftfahrer changed their helmet into Tshakos since june 5, 1912. On this photo, they don´t have Litzen, so we have a bavarian Kraftfahr-Kolonne, that was set-up in war-time
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Hi, thanks for the Info guys!!! I had never factored them into the Tschako equation. I guess they never wore then in the field, driving with a Tschako must have been pretty difficult! best Chris
