Freiwillige
Dear gentlemen, could you please help me with identifying one decoration on the ribbon bar worn by the commander of the FAR23 Oberst Karl Philipp Friedrich von Herff? Judging from the awards, the portrait was made between November 25, 1916 and February 24, 1917. The photo is from my personal collection. Glenn J. helped me with identification of all the other awards on the ribbon bar of von Herff: EK2; ???; Roter Adler Orden 4.Klasse; Dienstauszeichnung für Offiziere; Zentenaermedaille; Ritterkreuz 1.Klasse - Orden Philipps des Großmütigen. The ribbon seems to be white with two vertical dark stripes. And this one to give impression of the photo itself.
dedehansen
Hi, I believe that it could be the Hessian Tapferkeitsmedaille. Regards Andreas
Glenn J
Which would make sense as he was the recipient of the Hessian Tapferkeitsmedaille. Regards Glenn
