bigjarofwasps Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I was researching something else when I cam across this.. I'm curious to know whether the medal would be awarded to Capt Gold RAMC or just Mark Gold? As I'm assuming he was home of leave at the time (and off duty?) Assuming it's named to Capt Gold RAMC would the same be true if he'd been a Constable or Firefighter who was off duty?

paul wood Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Absolutely, he is still a Policeman whether on or off duty. Paul
peter monahan Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 And if he weren't a soldier or a policeman wouldn't qualify for most medals, the exception of course being the George Cross, so the naming conventions used for other honours and awards would almost certainly have been followed. As Paul says: rank, name, unit.
