this belonged to a 1914 Volunteer who became an NCO, then a Lt. d. Res.

What kind of Schirmmütze is this? An NCO or an officer? Or both?

Is a officer type ,the cockades says that . but with other simpler cockades is a soldiers one The Feldwebel Vizefeldwebel and Offizierstellverteter were entitled to wear officer type cockades .
