Mark McM
Gentlemen, This one has me stumped. Any thoughts?
Claudius
I can't read it very well, even the date is obscure. But I think it is, what it appears to be. A watch fob owned by a veteran of the 1866 Austro-Prussian War.
Mark McM
the fob chain was added by the seller. I'm sure it was a ribboned medal at one time.
Chris Boonzaier
A Gladbach veterans association cross, added to a chain at some stage, could have been done by the seller, or the vet...

Chris Boonzaier
Hi, hard to say, I am not sure if it had a proper ribbon or just a bow, usually these veteran thingies had the ribbon in their local coulors... blue white for Bavarian etc...
