Luftmensch Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 (edited) Thought I'd share my small flock of Godet Zepps, and encourage any others to come out of their roosts... Fullsize, converted from screwback to pinback. Prinzens--one of each. The Army has cut-out gondolas. Even the mini has amazing detail, right down to the longitudinal ribbing on the airship. jaba1914 Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Congratulations to this nice badges, especially to the full size Godet badge. Kind regards Alex
Luftmensch Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 Thank you, Alex. Didn't you find a Godet a few years ago? I know there is at least one more out there in GMIC land... Alex, I was also wondering--how many Godet Zeppelins do you think have survived? I hear 30 to 40 fullsize + Prinzen. Do you think that number is too high or too low?
jaba1914 Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 (edited) Hi John, no one can say how many badges Godet sold. All numbers you heard are estimations. I know 3 badges in different museums. another 5-6 in collections and 2 on market over the last 10 years It seems that Godet badges were not very popular at that time. Kind regards Alex You mean this badge? Edited August 21, 2017 by jaba1914
Luftmensch Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 (edited) Wow...I think in your travels and knowledge, Alex, you probably have the best tally of how many are out there. So few! Very nice badge...I love the patina...was it mounted on something? Edited August 21, 2017 by Luftmensch
Ferg1 Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 My friend Luftmensch is kindly posting my Godet for all to see, can't quite get the photo uploading to behave ! Ferg.

jaba1914 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 You have forgot the one I posted, Another navy airship badge is located at the Zeppelin museum at Zeppelinheim. Kind regards Alex
Luftmensch Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 Thank you for the badge at Zeppelinheim. You have one in your collection? Would you post it again to this thread? It seems you, me, Ferg and Carsten have half of the world's Godet Zeppelins!
jaba1914 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I thought the Godet no. 10 from your listing is the badge you posted for Fergus on post #8. So I miss the one I posted on post #5. Kind regards Alex
Luftmensch Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Yes! It is the one in post #5, which you sold Ferg, carefully restored by a great jeweller!
