Kepi blanc Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Hi Anyone who can tell what medals he is wearing ? I know they are from Finland
Great Dane Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 A very interesting photo! The cross if the "Skyddskårernas Förtjänstkors" (eng.: Merit Cross of the Defence Forces?). Instituted in 1922. The thing in the button hole is the 10 year long service award for service in the Danish "Kongeligt Livjægerkorps" (eng.: ?). Instituted in 1921. It is a powder measure (not sure if that is the correct translation?) to be worn from a green ribbon in the 3rd button hole.
Kepi blanc Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 Great Dane, many thanks for your great help
Hans N Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Civil Guard not Defence forces but otherwise nothing to add
tompress Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 The Suojeluskunta (Civil Guard) Merit corss was established in silver and iron grade (silver is scarce, ca. 500 only awarded). Two last shields are shooting awards of local SK detachments. This one in the pocket button hole is possibly Estonian Kaitselit (Defence League) member badge.
