A Fine example you shared Uwe.

Since this ship bears the namesake of the region you were born, I can understand the interest.   However, there also was the S.M.S. Stettin, S.M.S.Rostock, S.M.S Stralsund, S.M.S Mecklenburg, S.M.S. Breslau,  etc...  Is there potentially a ship that is closer to your birth town?

S.M.S Cormoran was a ship in the East Asia Squadron, one of the Buzzard class of lightly protected Cruisers which were protecting the interests of the Kaiser in the Colonies. 1892 - 1914.

Hello Morten, I have a few portrait pictures of sailors with their respective Mützenband.  However, I don't have any period Imprerial Tally photos.  Only what I have been able to scrape together from the internet.

I know you have an incredible collection of photos.  I am always grateful to see your ever expanding collection.

    Hello JustinG,

appreciate that you like my collection.I now have 15 pictures of Imperial Mützenbander in wear on order.I can show you some of these when they arrive.GMIC Forum has been for many years my favorite Forum but some time ago I discovered that the pictures I have posted on this forum are scattered on the internet. Many of my collector friends hardly post anything here anymore because we had hoped that they would close the forum. In fact, you can see everything without logging in.

    Morten:

Thank you for sharing your observations and concerns.  That is most unfortunate.  There is some things that you can do to protect the uniqueness of your collection and that is with editing or adding a "Watermark" to the photo.  Changing the color can also be a choice, I thought that was what you had did with the photo of the "Hindenburg" sailor?

People who share their work with the world, will likely face the issue that it is borrowed or stolen.  Frankly, In my humble opinion, this brings up the interest in your physical collection more to a broader audience.  I have noticed that you have been signing with your full name instead of your moniker....  Would you mind sharing your reasons for doing this recently?

This forum is very nice, I too appreciate the members here who are very civil, helpful and pleasant.  That is very important to me, as I am sure for many collectors and purveyors of Militaria.  This might be worth seeing a post on this forum which specifically addresses your concerns with the administration?

    Best Regards,

    Hello,

very good what you write and I agree with you. But I had hoped that the Forum could close the Forum so that if you want to enter you have to log in. Many collectors I know rather spend their time communing privately with other collectors who also I do. The forum has now become so well known that they should close it. I think that we who have contributed so much to this good forum should be heard about this.
