    Wow!!!

Do you think the manfacturer made two different types (given the different mounting systems and different leaf designs)? Or, do you think they made one type and were also in the business of selling theirs as well as those made by other manufacturers?

Weitze has a box of these for sale on his site.

HAD a box for sale... :P

There were 37 pieces in the box; I bought the box and six of them. Perhaps over the next several months I'll get more of the clusters to add to their brothers.

I can't answer the previous question. I would say the manufacturer had two different prong-types on hand, to fit different needs. But the obverses are too different...

    I echo Stogie....Nice !

    Thanks for showing.

Are these the oak that are directly attached to the EKII ribbon?

And they are for the 1813 and 1870 EKII only? were they used with the 1914 EKII or was the TR Spange used?

    Regards

    Paul

    Paul,

These were worn only with the 1870 EK2. They were authorized in 1895 for the 25th Anniversary of the victory during the Franco-Prussian War. My understand these were not issued, but had to be purchased. That would explain why the majority of 1870 EK2s do not have them. Ralph, you have been a busy guy.
