Looks to be a very nice example, not being my field of collecting at all, what was the purpose of these? Have seen them in the past at Fairs and always walked past.

If I understand correctly, thgey were kind of a watch fob, worn on the pocket watch, or on the pocket watch chain. As they do not seem to be very praticle, I assume they were more of the keepsake....
