Norman ben Nathan
Just acquired this unusual buckle. Appears to be chrome plated brass. It has a 50's style hook. Any input as to its use would be greatly appreciated. I did look on the net and it was described as a "guards" buckle like in a gulag. The internet isn't always gospel! Thank you! chechaco1
VOHR is a civil guard with a weapon, often, as they are called in Russia, "starper" - an old fart. Therefore, compliance with the form is only nominal, they will recognize you as a vohrovets, and that's good, there is a cap - and that's enough )
Jersey Bouy
Thank you chechacol1. So they are basically Russian Rent-A-Cops, but older! Starper-my new favorite Russian word.?
