03fahnen Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Greetings dear collectors. I want to show you a pin that I just received, the seller attributes it to the Kapitänleutnant Wolf Hans Hertwig. "Persönliche Bandspange des Kommandaten von U91, Kapitän zur See Wolf Hans Hertwig. Aus der Sammlung Rick Lundström", as described in the auction of BENE MERENTI AUKTIONEN 1.) Prussia: Iron Cross, 1914, 2. class; 2.) Oldenburg: Friedrich-August Cross, 2. class; 3.) Sax-Weimar Eisenach: Order of the White Falcon, knights cross 2. class; 4.) Sax-Meiningen: Honor Decoration for Merits in War; 5./6.) Unknown; The biography of Wolf Hans Hertwig accompanies the pin. where he collects the decorations: (see detail in photo) Can anyone confirm that this pin belonged to the Kapitänleutnant Wolf Hans Hertwig Why does the pin have the order of the White Falcon, knights cross 2. class; that does not appear in the biography. I appreciate any information.
Paul C Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 I can confirm that the above ribbon bar did come from Rick's collection. I am not sure how Rick made the attribution, but I trust his judgment.
03fahnen Posted November 27, 2019 Author Posted November 27, 2019 Thank you very much Paul, Rick's provenance confirmed, I'm calm in the award to .Kapitänleutnant Wolf Hans Hertwig I've always admired Rick's work
Nicolas7507 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 In my opinion: 5th ribbon: Silesian Eagle 6th ribbon: Finnish Liberty Cross
