kasle Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Maybe not Turkish medal at all, as it doesn´t have typical Turkish suspension. But the date (if I read it correctly) says 1293, which would fit to 1877 Russo-Turkish war. Thank you very much in advance for any help.
paul wood Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 It's loosely based on a coin of Abdul Hamid II bearing the accession year AH 1293 (1876). I have seen similar pieces in gilt metal which were suspensed to the wedding dresses of those who couldnt afford the gold. Fun but nothing of consequence. P
