Stuka f Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Hello all, found this little fellow in a house clearing. Apparently used to party during carnival at some point, due to the confetti found inside. And coming from a region where carnival is "hot", ....yes; Aalst! Nicely marked on the inside. For one with the Kriegs bekleidungsamt des (or der!?) Gardekorps.1915. And second with a name. To me it reads like "Heks", what do you think? And is there anything that can be found on Herr Heks when serving in the garde regiment?
Stuka f Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Indeed. But he is good now, and will recover. ?
Bayern Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 My pleasure , thinking in the restoration i wonder about the cracking in the haube surface and the best way to restore it. have you some guideline '?
Stuka f Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 They are usually left as they are. Except adding a front plate, undo the rossette of that ugly paint. And upgrading the chinstrap, there will no happen much more to this guy.
Bayern Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Stuka ,Understanded ,please when you repair the little picken post a pic
Stuka f Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 I will. Meanwhile does anybody have an idea what the name of the owner can be. "Heks" or something...??
Bayern Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Hello ,to e is Hess but with the german double s in one
Stuka f Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Hey, gosh!! ....Rudolf's helmet ....! ?? Thanks for your help. You are probably right.
Bayern Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Stuka , Rudolf enlisted in a Bavarian Field Artillery Regiment then was transferred to the 1st Bavarian IR and lately to the Bavarian 18 th Reserve IR . finally was trained for pilot . I fear that is not his helmet .
Stuka f Posted March 10, 2020 Author Posted March 10, 2020 Just kidding! ? My guess is that Hess is quiet a common German name.
Bayern Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Stuka ,Hess is a territorial family name , applied to those originals from Hesse ,Hessen , a short form of Hessische , Hessian . so it must be common .
