    Hello Chris,

Congratulations!  This is my favorite regiment and the only one that I collect shoulder boards/epaulettes of.  As you know, this variation was only used for a short period of time, and the Feldgrau (subdued) version is seldom seen.  I know that these were not inexpensive (I had my eye on them for awhile too).  I am glad that they went to a good home!

    Best regards,

Veeeery nice... I would say super rare because this would have been made for very short time, before the M15 boards were actually made!

There is a single board to the 3rd Still on Weitzes site... I am tempted... but....

Funny thing, I have an open offer for any set of Bavarian fieldgrey boards. from 250 up... cant find any... (it is not only Bavarian... any good set of Fieldgrey is extremely difficult to find)

Which regiment is it? I'm looking to move into shoulder board collecting too but it's a WHOLE other world to my humble medal collecting. Also congrats Chris!

    Hi,

it is a Bavarian 3rd Infantry bord... but from 1916 on... most of the plates and examples show the boards as they were in 1914 and not the changes... If you are looking that way the first money you should spend is the Kelso book in shoulder boards/starps "Under arms for the Kaiser"
