    Courtier joined in March 1888.

A Division sent a contingent of officers to H Division to assist in the hunt for the ripper. These officers were mainly young in service Bobbies, perhaps your chap was one of them?

34 uniformed officers originally detailed for patrols in Trafalgar Square (A division) remained in Whitechapel and were still there in the summer of 1889.
