NavyFCO Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 This is a nice uniform group and personnel file that belonged to HSU Chernikov...
NavyFCO Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Here's the inside of the file, plus a few photos that came with the group. Note that he was a Lt. Colonel by the end of the War, but the uniform was never updated. Odd. Probably a good story, but my crystal ball broke...
NavyFCO Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Oh, by the way, he wasn't a pilot... he was a former pilot, that later became a Commissar... Thus the early pilot's badge on the later tunic!
NavyFCO Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Now his hat was probably the most beautiful Soviet Air Force hat I've ever seen. Just a WOW!
Guest Rick Research Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Uhhhhhh ohhhhhhhh Dave is straying into The World Of Cloth!!!! I hope the next time you are up this way you'll swing over and see a Gharstly Object Lesson in what happens whenUniform Fever hits.
NavyFCO Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Uhhhhhh ohhhhhhhh Dave is straying into The World Of Cloth!!!! Rick-Actually, about a year ago I dumped the majority of my medals collection and am now almost exclusively a cloth collector, save for my Red Stars and Homeland 3rds... I figured it was going "back to my roots"... I started off by collecting cloth, got into collecting awards, collected awards exclusively for over ten years... and now back to cloth - mostly because it's something I can afford!!!I can post more photos of my cloth collection if folks are interested. Dave
