Peppe864 Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Hi guys! I have tried to search the net for any references on italian ww2 rank insignia and branch colors. I have found NONE. Can anyone help me with the insignia on this tunic? My bet is infantry, but is it right, cany anyone tell me more?
Zaim Qyteza Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Hi Peppe, It is the jacket of a lieutenant-colonel of 29-th infantry Division Piemonte, of Italian Royal Army around 1940. Lieutenant-colonel: Two stars and the golden strip around the epaulette. Infantry: Red pipes around the epaulette and the button with the trophy of infantry. Division Piemonte: Red mostrine on the colar. Regards, Zaim
BalkanCollector Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Could we possibly see the whole uniform? Amazing artifact!
jimn Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Hello that's a nice uniform. Do you have a name for the wearer? I see he has a Seniority Cross on his ribbon bar which means he is prob a regular officer. if so there are quite a few good sites to research his career online .And also should be able to get a citation for his Valour Medal.
Peppe864 Posted October 11, 2021 Author Posted October 11, 2021 Thanks for the input guys. When I get more time I will try to take pics of the complete uniform, trousers, tunic and sidecap to teh same soldier.
