Paul C
Does anyone have any information on a P. Von Borstell. His name is on a Langensalza medal I may bid on. I checked the 1879 Prussian RL and the 1908/09 DOA and nothing.

Wild Card
Hi Paul,No matches in the 1865 Hannoverian House and State Handbook, sorry. Keep in mind that he could have been a Saxon, or even Austrian as some of them also received these medals. Good Luck -Wild Card
Glenn J
Hi Paul, the only officer with a similar spelt name in the 1866 Hannoverian Army list was a Hauptmann A von Borstel of the 4. Infanterie-Regiment...and he was killed in action at Langensalza. No Saxon officer of that name serving in 1866. There was an Austrian Rittmeister Burghard von Borstell serving in the 2. Uhlanen-Regiment in 1865.RegardsGlenn

Stogieman
So! Did you bid? Would they have awarded this medal posthumously? Thanks! Inquiring minds and all.......
