Stuka f Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 here is a rare unofficial medal, at least it is to me. It is a medal honoring king Léopold III, who came in a political storm after the choices he made during the war. The medal has the profil of the king on one side and on the back it says; "sympathizers for the defense of the monarchy Antwerp". It is the first one I ever came by. Don't think the same medal was ever made in french, as that part of the country was (for a mojority) not in favor of the king's choices...and he's "come back". The medal was found in a house clearing among other medals and pin's of the original owner. 1

v.Perlet Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Hello Stuka f, Nice medals. The medal that got my attention is the one with the blue and black striped ribbon. What medal would that be and do you have a photo regarding the reverse? Regards v.Perlet

v.Perlet Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) Thanks GM1, upon your info I checked the www and found this order designation. This order class seems to be a pre-war (WW1) award. 5 classes of the order 3 classes of medals Real beauties and very similar to Bavarian medals....hm.....I might just consider... GM1 Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Initially it started as a private order of King Leopold II for Congo Free State, after it was included in the Belgian order system. There is a specific topic on this order:https://gmic.co.uk/topic/3237-belgian-order-of-leopold-ll/ Best regards GM1
