ArHo Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 Hallo, I was wondering if it is possible to identify this man with his many decorations. I sadly have no name and the Monogram (?) on the Epauletts is not readily readable. I see that he wears the Kronenorden 2nd class, on the Spange the Eiserne Kreuz 1870 with oakleaves for 25 years, the knights cross of the Hausorden of Hohenzollern, the Roter Adler Orden 3rd class with Krone and Schleife, the Dienstauszeichnungskreuz for officers, the Kriegsdenkmünze for 1870/71 with one clasp and the Zentenarmedaille. Also on his left breast there are several loops indicating the he was entitled to more decorations but I would guess that he only wears his Prussian ones here? I would be grateful for any ideas. Cheers
Glenn J Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 (edited) Hi, Georg von Kalckstein. Flügeladjutant to Wilhelm II between 1894 and 1899. And Hearing as you say “just Prussian“, a fraction of his awards! This from the 1898 Prussian Rangliste. Regards Glenn Edited August 19, 2022 by Glenn J 3
ArHo Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 (edited) @Glenn J thank you very much - I really appreciate this! It is always amazing to see, how much peace-time-"honour" long-serving officers could amass if they held the right functions. Danke und Grüße Edited August 20, 2022 by ArHo

They would be dragging across the floor! 1
