    Yuan Dynasty bronze seal

I have acquired a presumably Yuan dynasty bronze seal roughly 15 years ago.

It was pitched as an official Mongolia Baihu seal.

I'll post some pics tomorrow and will subsequently also post some tentative translation which is referring to it having a link with Mongolian military.

Does anybody know of a good forum to learn more about these seals and to potentially get some help to translate the markings underneath and on top a bit more accurately?

When I acquired this 15-20 years ago (for a very small amount) it was referred to as Yuan dynasty Mongolian Biahu official seal. I recently found it while moving a piece of furniture and became curious as to its possible meaning.

It APPEARS (if authentic) to be an imperial mongol seal with Phags-pa script on the bottom and Chinese (?) characters on the top.

I tried to run it through google translate and was only able to get some very basic translation of the markings on the top:

    - Something like: "There are hundreds of households in the Mongolian army"

    - And: "August of the fourth year of Pan Yanyou"

That doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. Any help would be appreciated!

游击军百户="Guerrilla" was an ancient military official in China, about the same as the current battalion commander, and "hundred households" was equivalent to the commander of a hundred men

延祐=Yanyou "is the year name used during the reign of Emperor Renzong of the Yuan Dynasty in China, equivalent to 1314-1320. The time was very short. The fourth year of Yanyou is 1317

I stumbled upon this video during my search and was wondering if you could open it. I hope it will be helpful to you. PS Some of your pictures are opposite..

    Thanks 1812 - that helps

Also makes me think my seal may be a modern era fake
