Duncan Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 (edited) This is an interesting little medal I've just acquired. Is anyone able to tell me where I could find out a bit more information about Docteur Valude please? Edited December 19, 2023 by Duncan
Hendrik Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Hello Duncan, According to the "Journal Officiel de la République Française" of 6 August 1914, Dr. Marie-Emile Valude received his medal as a "commercial mutuality" doctor in Paris ... see right hand column in the attached document. Regards, Hendrik
pinpon590 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 And I found a list of doctors practicing in Paris, established on January 1, 1918. There is a Dr. VALUDE (Marie-Emile-Clément-Barthélemy), birth date 12 janvier 1885, living in Paris, 240 bis boulevard St-Germain...
Duncan Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 That's fantastic, many thanks both of you. I read that a Doctor Valude removed Monet's cataracts, but can't find where I read that now. Thank you again Hendrik and pinpon590, that's very much appreciated.
