Duncan
I bought a few WW2 Australian badges, all numbered on the rear. Are there any online records where I might be able to find the recipient using these numbers please. Regards, Duncan.
Farkas
Hi Duncan, looks like there are registers with the names for numbered badges, maybe they are the badges you have… https://www.awm.gov.au/articles/encyclopedia/badges/female_relative the link takes you to this 👇 fingers crossed for you 🤞 tony 🍻
Gordon Craig
Farcas, Interesting to see that these small badges are traceable. Thanks for posting that kind of information. Regards, Gordon

Thanks for the help, Duncan.
Farkas
That’s so annoying isn’t it. I recently found a ‘dead’ relative on an immigration list in America… only available to see the in person 😡 I wrote to them ‘expressing my disappointment’ and they kindly helped me themselves. The other scenario is these institutions will often do research for a fee… Austrian archives charge 35euros. It may be worth an email to them 🤷♂️ tony 🍻

There must be stacks of Commonwealth and Imperial records out there, but not accessible unless you visit the actual records office. I remember though when all you could get of UK records was the Medal Index Card.
