GODISHIGH Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Hello, I'm interested in this Attila but but would like opinions on authenticity and what regiment it belongs too Thanks for all help John
Trooper_D Posted August 31 Posted August 31 (edited) Dark green with yellow braid were attributes of the 6th and 10th Hussar Regiments. I think that this one is probably a privately-made tunic (or Attila) as it has no markings and the lining is of a superior kind. I am wondering about the shoulder straps as, for a trooper without NCO rank I think I would have expected single cords (as well as double-corded shoulder straps, an NCO should have a button on the collar). Perhaps this is the tunic of a one-year volunteer? You will find some useful information here (including a photo of a tunic of an NCO of the 10th Hussar Regiment), https://www.kaisersbunker.com/gtp/husar.htm Edited August 31 by Trooper_D 1
GODISHIGH Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Is there a way to tell if it is either regiment 6 or 10? Would the owner have been an NCO? When would this Attila have been made, just an estimate? Would the owner have fought in the First World War? Thanks John

Distinctive feature was the colourmix of the cap and the saddle-blanket as well as the collartabs of the coat (additional pink (10th) applications vs red applications) GreyC Edited September 11 by GreyC

I think that this is a Mannschaften or enlisted man attila as I would have expected there to be a button on either side of the collar for an NCO. An example similar to yours but for an NCO is shown about half way down this page, https://www.kaisersbunker.com/gtp/husar.htm Edited September 14 by Trooper_D
