Johnny R
Greetings gentlemen, this sold at auction for a low price compared to other example which always makes me nervous. While the folder is separated and not in good condition but it is complete. The document dates to at least 2006 when it was last sold. Could I please ask for opinion on the piece. Thank you. hucks216
The last time I saw a bunch of formal RK citations sell (at auction) without the folder they went for around 5-6,000 Euros I believe so there have been a fair few genuine ones in the last year or so going for less than the more usual 10-14,000 Euros examples that have never been separated from their folder. I don't really study these as I will never manage to own one but if the citation is a fake then it is a well executed one.
Gordon Craig
Johny R, Almost impossible to tell from a picture if the document is authentic or not. I had a set of Knights Cross documents made to match a tunic in my collection and they look as close to original as it is possible to get. As for the folder, they were all made by the same person and the name of the maker is in gold, in small letters, on the interior of the folder. My copies did. I can confirm that Erich Kaiser won the Knights Cross on 26.2.42 as Oblt., Chef 6./Pz. Rgt. 39. He died on 28.8.42 in Russland als Hptm. u. Abt. Kdr. seinen Verw., erlegen. (DIE TRAGER DES RITTERKREUZES DES EISERNEN KREUZES 1030-1945). Regards, Gordon
