coastie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I would be very nervous of this. The quality isn't there that you would expect out of a Junckers. Notice how there was an attempt to remove the lower part of the ring, very sloppy. Ask for more pictures.

Guest Darrell Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 This one was discussed at WAF eons ago. It was bad then, it's bad now.

I think Darrell is right I thought this one looked familiar. There is an American/British expression "Bad pennies always will turn up" . Consider this a bad penny.
Bob Hunter Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Wasn't the Juncker characteristic cross hatching in the corners associated with WWII RKs only??Be afraid, be very afraid. If nothing else the price alone is frightening.
Daniel Murphy Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 What he is showing is the back side of a 1939 RK. And a fake one at that. Notice there is no oakleaves or crown on the 1813 side and the measurements are listed at 47.5 mm. A GK would be 58mm or so. You can bet your @$$ that if it was a real RK it would be called as such and that they would at least show a photo of the front with a covered swastika. On the second piece, it looks like a Latvian fake in an original case. I don't think it is original to an 1870 EK1, but it is original to something. Where the EK sits looks too small.

ekhunter Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 If it walks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, well, you know the rest. I see no one commented on the 1870. Both of these crosses are bad. The bad Junkers wanna be has been around for a while. Rears it's ugly head ever so often.

Daniel Murphy Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 THAT? Is supposed to be the highest decoration the German government could give for bravery. Look at how the beading has been sanded down to "make it look used" and how all of the edges have been played with. And the cross hatching at the corners? .Dan Murphy

coastie Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 First time I've seen the side shots, there is enough room between the frame and core to drive a truck through. I'll take my post-war flawed S&L any day.
