drspeck Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Dear all, I picked up these ribbon bars some time ago. Something with the Carl Eduard medal was missing from my collection and I' ve been looking for it for quite sometime. Any thoughts on these? It looks like the bar with the metal backing took a bit of a beating. And could this be a unique combination? Also, how many swords can you fit on a bar... (probably a lot more...) Best, Peter
Stogieman Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Hi Peter, I don’t understand why the two Sax awards are mounted after the HK? Thoughts??

Daniel Krause Posted November 11 Posted November 11 More likely the 2 ernestinians after the long service were awarded after the abdication. Carl Eduard did hand out his gongs at least up to 1935. Best, Daniel 1

landsknechte Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Quote Carl Eduard did hand out his gongs at least up to 1935. Out of curiosity, do we know whether those post war awards included awards with swords?
Daniel Krause Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Yes, definetly... but as swords on the ring, not across the middle. On a ribbon bar you can not make out the difference. Best, Daniel 1
