Pour le Mérite, Friedländer 938 mark ... genuine or copy ?

I'm looking for your opinions on this PLM with Friedländer marks. Is it a genuine original ? Were copies ever made with the FR 938 marks ? Please check the pictures below ...

Looks like crap to me.

There are numerous fakes of this maker in circulation, at least one a week on eBay. There’s an active listing right now already bid up to over $400.

The lettering and eagles are very wrong and the enamel looks like 💩, IMO
