Simon Orchard
I am a little confused here, the listing I have (from him I hope) show only 19Does somebody have a detail list and can confirm 19 or 20, pleaseI'm simply going from this Axis History factbookif you have 19 from the man himself then that would seem to me to be a better source. The date of his EKI, 17 February 1942, is significant as it was on that day he claimed his 3rd and 4th air ...

Airfield and anchorage protection at Banak and Alta, jabo missions and escorts out of Alakurtti.

Dean
Sirs, as a new member who stumbled across this site as part of an attempt to Google the redoutable Mr. Hammel (who may actually be part of my family line), I'm astounded by the documentation which has been discovered & shared thusfar. I must tip an electronic hat and offer my utmost thanks.

Arjen
Searching for the story of 3 hudsons, from 320 Squadron RNAF, shot down at the south Norwegian coast on aug 30e 1941, I found this discussion. Kurt Hammel claimed 1 of these victories, the other 2 were Feldwebel Flamm and Leutnant Ehrler. At the beginning of the discussion is written: "If you don't already have it you ought to get a copy of Eric Mombeek's "Eismeerj?ger: Band 2" There's several photos of Hammel in cluding one taken on the day of the award of his EKII and a good account of his first victory, a lockheed Hudson shot down of the Southern Norwegian coast on the 30th Aug.41. It appears he was also a friend of Heinrich Ehrler who was also a leutnant in the 4 staffel in 1942." Is there anybody who can copy or scan this pages and post them here? It would help me in my research!
