Christophe Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 A simple question : on this pic, these two Russian Air Force officers have different caps, with different badges. Is there any reason why ? Or is it just that the one on the right (Lieutenant-General) has an older version ? Ch.Pic : Air Fleet (4.05)
Stogieman Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Hi Christophe.. interesting mix of pre/post break-up insignia! Where/when was the photo taken?
Christophe Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 Hi Rick,I don't know exactly when this photo has been taken, but it has been published in Air Fleet edition #53, in mid 2005. That's the best I can tell.Cheers.Ch.
Guest Rick Research Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 In the 1940s-50s, non-flying personnel didn't have the wings on top as a cap badge. Perhaps the guy with the freakish Hollywood Romanov eagle which the new Republic has chosen as an emblem is from a ground service of the air force?
