Guest Rick Research Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 This just came in today. The RSR legend under the enamelled national crest shows it is 1965+. From Lukasz Gaszewski's ribbons of the world websitehttp://www.medals.lava.pl/index.htmI see that the ribbon bar ribbons changed in 1968Does anyone have the RPR versions? What do the 2nd and 3rd Classes look like?
Kev in Deva Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) Hallo Ricky, Nice piece with regards R.S.R. versions:2nd Class had silver rays with red stones, gold ears of corn left and right of the tri-color.3rd Class had bronze rays, white stones, silver ears of corn left and right of the tri-color.Kevin in Deva. Guest Rick Research Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Hmmm, so is this maybe a "bronze"and not the "gold?" Some of the twinklies look yellow, but some look clear/"white."
Kev in Deva Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Hallo Ricky, 1st and 3rd had clear white stones. Kevin in Deva.

Guest Rick Research Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Were these Orders awarded in the Soviet style: first held a 3rd Class, then got a 2nd Class, then got the 1st Class-- or were these awarded individually by recipient's rank/status? TODAY is my first day "collecting" Romanian awards.

I have not seen many of the awards at the collectors fairs here, some are no doubt still held by the family's, others, are being sourced by the professional dealers out of Bucharest out to make a killing by selling to the west. Guest Rick Research Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 We had a tidal wave of all the "twinkly" Orders 10 years or so ago and now: extinct as the wooly mammoth, nowhere to be found. Which is odd, since I've never met anybody here who admitted to collecting these.Above was described as State Security, but I'm wondering if the "normal" civil police also got these?Noooooooooooooooo books.
Guest Rick Research Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Aha-- I knew I'd seen one in here! Here is a 3rd Class of the RPR version of this Order-- MUCH MUCH better looking!!!http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...st&p=223474
