    1. Thanks Alec. Here's mine, it's a transitional piece marked RZM 17 plus the Assmann symbol. Cheers Don
    2. Looks nice from the front Alec, may we see the reverse? Cheers Don
    3. Bill, Do not apologise for opening old threads, they are here to be added to. Nice piece you have there, & glad to read that you've solved a mystery. Cheers Don
    4. Possible new fake on the market Picked this up on an auctiion site last week because in all my years of collecting I've never seen one of these marked to C.Poellath. Now it has arrived I have my doubts that it is genuine. It's difficult to explain but the badge just does not "feel right" to the touch. The enamel is perfect, a liitle too perfect. On the reverse, the Poellath marked pin plate is a couple of millimetres larger than any of the Poellath marked plates I have on any of my other badges made by them..... It could be good but I doubt it. So if we start to see a number of these cropping up in the future, remember you saw it here first folks........ Cheers Don
    5. Jani, I have looked up the figures for the 3 year badge for you. In total 713 badges were awarded over the two years 1943 & 1944. If you have a chance to buy one, find out the serial number from the reverse & let me know it. I can then tell you whether it was a badge that was awarded or not (& who to). Cheers Don
    6. No there isn't any real reference material, there was a small article in 1997 in the Militaria magazine by Ingo Haarcke, but there wasn't much information in it. Much more is known now. I am hoping to write a book on both the Landesschießen & Kreisschießen events, but it is taking a long time to get all the badges & information together. Yes I can tell you exactly how many 3 year badges were awarded (they were only awarded in 1943 & 1944), & I have all of the names of the people who received them. When I get home tonight I shall look up how many badges were awarded for you. However it has to be remembered that as with all badges, more were made than awarded, so many of the badges on the market are un-awarded pieces released post war. Cheers Don
    7. Jani, I thought that you may enjoy seeing my mini 3 year Gaumiester badge with the very rare mini 4 year clasp..... The full size clasps are tough to find, but the mini..... Cheers Don
    8. Hi Jani, I am also please to find another collector! Thank you for showing us your pieces, so very nice ones there. Cheers Don
    9. Hi Pete, Just a quick double check as the pic is a little small on my screen, is the year 1941? If so, yes it was awarded to Hans Lenz from Innsbruck. He took part in all the shoots 1941 - '44, & was also awarded the 3 year Gaumeisterschütze badge & the 4 year spange. A nice find, well done. Cheers Don
    10. Pete, I noticed a Gau Hamburg a few posts back http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=24526&view=findpost&p=369543 I recently picked this one up which is a similar design with the red plastic diamond cut edge backing. I wonder whether these were part of a set & if there are other designs? Cheers Don
    11. Another nice find James. How many Party badges do you have now? Cheers Don
    12. Some nice looking pieces being offered there. It's good to see an original aircraft spotter's badge, a great number of the ones seen for sale are fakes these days. Cheers Don
    13. It's a tinnie or day badge sold to raise money for the Luftschutz. If you follow this link there is some discusion about the badge on posts 493 - 499 (about halfway down the page) which may answer your questions. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5051&st=480&p=170195&#entry170195 Hope this helps. Don
    14. Hi Mike, Thanks for sharing your pieces with us, especially the one with the wreath. I hoped that yow would post them Cheers Don
    15. Gentlemen, Due to personal family problems & illness, I have been abscent from the forum for a year or so. However even though I wasn't posting I was logging in most days to keep an eye on what you were up to . Things have calmed down now & I am able to spend more time with the forum. This is the best forum for Political, Organisational & Enamel badges, & I look forward with your help to making it even better. So come on Gentlemen, please post your badges!!!! Cheers Don
    16. Alec, There is a thread here http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11765 that may answer part of your question (post #18). The particular badge you show is the standard membership badge, could you please post a picture of the obverse & reverse of it on that thread as well because that maker is not shown there. It's now believed by collectors that the blue bordered badge with the maker mark "AK" shown in the first post is a fake. I do have a few extra badges & documents from the RDK that I haven't had time to post there yet. Cheers Don
    17. Ulsterman, thank you for joining in, as you can see this is not my area of knowledge . I'm a little confused I'm afraid. Are you saying that the enamel badges I posted at the top became the Ehrenzeichen? These are for 25 & 50 yrs, but members could qualify after 10 & 15 yrs? I've always had problems tracking down info on these badges (including in wear images) so any info you have on them would be very helpful. Thanks again Don
    18. Hi Mark, Sorry for my delay in replying, I didn't know the answer & had to do some research to try & find out. Here a some pix of the award. Cheers Don
    19. Here's mine with a low serial number. Cheers Don
    20. A simple to spot fake of this one has just appeared on a website, the reverse is the same as the recently found Heims Ins Reich here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16439&view=findpost&p=378186 so it looks like the same faker is banging them out... Cheers Don
    21. Thank you Dan, it's a pleasure. Lars, Thank you for posting this last picture. The colour of the white worries me as it look "too white" if you know what I mean, also the quality of the enamel doesn't look as good as the others. However, this could just be down to the poor quality of the image... Cheers Don
