    1. There isn't any problem with a female being awarded one. It was given to all members of the HJ & BDM who had joined prior to October 2nd 1932, & who had not less than 5 years unbroken service with either of the youth services or if they had outgrown these, one of the other NS organisations. Cheers Don
    2. Detail of mark. I don't think it's an "E" Michael, just a poorly formed Z with a crossbar.
    3. Here are larger images of Michael's badge. Cheers Don
    4. Robert, Here is a link that James Noble gave me ages ago that explains the significance of the cross & St Hubertus with the hunting fraternity. http://www.crystalbay.net/town/sthubertus.html I also agree with your comment re being online together, a rare event indeed. Stephen, Thanks for the info. I'd be interested to hear if you can turn up anything regarding a connection between these organisations. Robert raised an interesting question here that I'd never really thought about until now. Cheers Don
    5. Something different. Deutscher J?gerbund Goldene Ehrennadel, F?r J?gertreue, H? 9711e Cheers Don
    6. Medium "b" size, maked Hoffst?tter. I've lightened the reverse slightly as it's almost black. [attachmentid=56291][attachmentid=56292] Cheers Don
    7. Here's a larger "a" size with maker mark H.Schauenburg, Pforzheim. Not heard of this one before. [attachmentid=56286][attachmentid=56289] Cheers Don
    8. There is a small paragraph about it in Angolia's "Labor Organizations of the Reich" Cheers Don
    9. Robert, I'm not really sure what the connection was between these groups was. Rosenberg's KfdK was combined with the Reichsbund deutsche B?hne (the National Association of German Theatres) forming the NS Kulturgemeinde (NSKG) in 1934. However, by this time the DAF had already established the Strength Through Joy movement & from what I understand Ley didn't get on with Rosenburg & as you correctly stated, he was edges out. In 1937 the NSKG was fully absorbed into the KdF. But how this connects with the Reichskulturkammer I don't know as the two were in existance at the same time, perhaps Stephen can help? So in answer to you question the badge that followed the KfdK I showed earlier was this one for the NSKG... [attachmentid=56274][attachmentid=56275] In answer to your second question, I have never seen an RKK with an RZM mark. Cheers Don
    10. Hi Philippe, Firstly, welcome to the forum! Good to see you here. I'm afraid as a probationary member you need to keep you images below 60kb. I'll delete your above post later once you've managed to make a new post Cheers Don
    11. Thanks for posting it Jamie. I find the use of the oval plate on all these very interesting.... I'm also noticing the difference in the pebbling used in the Swastika, could be useful...... Cheers Don
    12. Hi Gerd, This is the membership badge for the DLV (Deutscher Luftsportverband), & looks to be the second pattern. I'm surprised to see it unmarked as these usually have at the very least Ges. Gesch & DLV on them if not a full maker mark as well. Cheers Don
    13. If anyone is looking for the individual badges that were here, they have been moved to their own threads. Please check out the index for links http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...ost&p=97916 Cheers Don
    14. A nice pin Joe. The ones we have here all show differencies between the makers. Not a badge that I've been able to "pin down" yet for my collection Cheers Don
    15. It's not exactly raised, as the area around it is not filled in as it would be if enamelled. So the background is lower. A bit like the background on the painted party badges. Cheers Don
    16. I do not see why they would not have made them, they were a large producer of badges in the early period. As far as I can see from the scan I don't see anything to cause a worry & would be very happy to have it in my collection. Nice find. Cheers Don
    17. I haven't one yet as I've never been sure of which type is correct. However what I do notice from both Joe's & Robert's (the angle is wrong on Pat's to see clearly) is that the pin plate is the same type, very slightly oval. Perhaps this could show that at the very least they came from the same source even if the fonts are different. Cheers Don
    18. I think we are probably all odd guys........... We must be to hang around here Cheers Don
    19. Nice looking badge you have there Pat. This is one of those badges that is highly controversial as many enamel collectors believe that only this version shown above is original, & that any other style of reverse markings are copies...... I'd be interested in what our fellow members views are on this subject, but please, let's keep it civil. The last discussion I remember about them got quite heated . Cheers Don
    20. Interesting pin Robert. You are correct in your comment about Freddy Rosenberg's involement with the KfdK. There seems to be quite a number of pinbacks of these floating about at the moment. All of the ones that I've seen have the same fault on the leg of the Swastika & the same distinctive pin plate. The design of the "hammer" & surrounding shape is also cruder & less defined than the stickpin. Joe & I have been having a discussion elsewhere as to whether these are originals or not. We haven't yet come to a conclusion....... [attachmentid=53656] Joe, Nice to see one of these DDAC's, they are hard to find. Cheers Don
    21. Interesting badge Peter. I'm afraid I can't answer any of your questions as the Divisi?n Azul is outside of my field of collecting I'm afraid. Hopefully someone else can help...... Cheers Don
    22. I have finally obtained a set of scales & calipers & have taken some measurements of the standard membership badges. As you can see, the Frank & Reif badge is indeed heavier & very slightly larger than the other makers...... [attachmentid=53553] Cheers Don
    23. This is something I will be looking into when I get the time, whether there is any visible difference between the fronts. Perhaps with the stippling pattern under the red enamel, or the style/shape of the stars etc.... Cheers Don
